.mstr file export is a very useful and powerful feature of MicroStrategy 10 and really expands the scope of collaboration and governed data discovery for the business users.
This would allow business users to share with everyone through enterprise metadata any dashboard or visualization which they may have created in their own MicroStrategy 10 Desktop installation. Once integrated with enterprise metadata the dashboard could be used others in the organization.
And the other way round it is possible to download any dashboard from the enterprise metadata, complete with data and visualizations. The dashboard can then be modified by the user through MicroStrategy 10 Desktop as per requirement and the user can also play with data making changes to the visualizations as needed.
And when we say MicroStrategy 10 Desktop this actually means the single user self-service analytic tools which was previously called Analytics Desktop. Now let us look at in detail this new feature available in MicroStrategy 10.
